So much is happening along the Wine Road, I’m going to give a quick recap of upcoming activities.

Treasure Hunt

We’re in the final days of an amazing treasure hunt that concludes on August 31st, and there is a pot of gold at the end of this adventure.

Here is how it works: visit participating Wine Road members (both wineries and lodgings), and snap a photo of their “treasure.” Post the image on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram with the tag #wineroadtreasure. Each time you post a photo, your name will be entered to win Wine Road prizes, event tickets, or swag. The players with the most posted “treasure” photos will be entered to win a Treasure Chest filled with $1000 worth of Wine Road loot. Happy hunting Mateys!!

For a list of participating wineries and their treasures, visit the Wine Road’s Treasure Hunt webpage.

Wine Road Movie Premier

As part of the Wine Road’s 40th anniversary celebration, the Wine Road’s movie “The Road to Ruby: 40 Years Along the Wine Road,” detailed in the last blog, will premier in just a few weeks on September 16 at Francis Ford Coppola Winery.

To view a sneak peak of the film, get more information on the event, or to purchase tickets, click one or more of these links.

California Wine Month

September is California Wine Month, and it’s a perfect time to learn more about grapes and wine. Throughout this year, the Wine Road newsletter has monthly highlighted a grape variety, as have some of their social media posts. During the month of September, you’ll be seeing daily information about grape varieties from multiple Wine Road sources.

So why did I write “grape variety” and not “grape varietal.” Well, although many people use variety and varietal interchangeably, there is actually a correct usage for each of them. Variety refers to the grape, while varietal refers to the wine. And, that is your new trivia for the day.

Wine & Food Affair will be November 5 & 6, 2016.

Wine & Food Affair

Heads up! On September 1, tickets go on sale for this exceptional wine and food pairing event along the Wine Road. Mark your calendars for November 5 & 6, and visit the Wine Road event’s page to get your tickets asap!

There is always so much happening along the Wine Road. Hope you schedule some time to visit soon.

Happy Sipping!
