We are all dying to know what’s new with the vineyards each season and we’eve invited some of our member wineries to clue us in.  This Spring, Bill Frick from Frick Winery has graced us with his 2015 vineyard update. So, here’s to fertile vines, luscious grapes, and more wine! And now for Bill’s Wine Road Blog debut:

WINE road bud break

This is an active time in my vineyards. The vines are now like young teenagers in their rapid growth period.

Viognier is growing suckers that need to be pulled off.  Counoise is trying to

set too many clusters that need to be thinned. Syrah is moping. Cinsaut is blooming early and is gorgeous.

All of this needs attention, so the cool mornings find me in the vineyards tending my “children”.

The attention and work will payoff in September when I harvest grapes ripened to perfection.

Said with true pose, thanks Bill! You can find Bill Frick at Frick Winery in North Dry Creek Valley,  23072 Walling Rd, Geyserville, CA 95441

More in the Vineyard updates to come and more to read from the past!
